Program Summary:

The BB&T Lighthouse Project supports nonprofit organizations in the work they do on a daily basis to help those most in need of assistance. When the economy took a downturn, BB&T knew we needed to do what we could to help our communities rebuild. While we have always supported our communities in a variety of ways, we developed an outreach program allowing for time away from the office to support giving back. We understood the importance of living out our mission of making our communities better places to live and work.

The annual program allows for local needs to be identified and supported through hands-on assistance and corporate funding. Each year during the months of April – June, BB&T associates can be found working with youth focused organizations, engaging with elder care activities, stocking food banks, building housing, and much more. Working hand in hand with those in need proves to be an incredible experience for all.

We want to help shine the light on the hardships people face - and to do what we can to ease their worries and fears. Through the BB&T Lighthouse Project, we strive to provide something bigger than ourselves. There is a strong sense of pride in knowing our company has a vital role in changing the community for the better. BB&T does our best to be the example others want to follow... standing ready to brave life's local storms, and to help others come out on the other side better than when they entered.
