Program Summary:

Community development activities play a key role in Centreville Bank’s social responsibility philosophy and our commitment to supporting programs and organizations that help improve the lives of individuals and families in Rhode Island is displayed through our strategic community work. In 2018, the Bank’s Charitable Foundation redefined its community investment priorities to better align with the existing needs of the community and the nonprofits that are working to address these issues. During a listening period about needs in the community, we quickly learned that in order to help nonprofits deliver effective quality programs, we needed to also support the internal operational structure of these partner organizations. Based on these discussions, a new program emerged which we named “Capacity Building Opportunities”. Community-based organizations provide exceptional programs and services that are critical to ensuring the vitality of communities across our state, but what they often lack is flexible funding that allows them to concentrate on their own internal needs. Our Capacity Building funding is designed to intentionally fill these gaps and enhance an organization’s effectiveness in accomplishing their mission.
