Program Summary:

Clear Mountain Bank is a locally owned community bank which is deeply rooted in the communities we serve. In September 2017, Clear Mountain Bank launched a community service initiative called “Clear Mountain Cares.” The program was created in honor of the bank’s former president and CEO, Brian F. Thomas, who passed away in 2016 following a battle with cancer. Brian dedicated countless hours to serving numerous organizations in our community, and the Cares program serves to continue Brian’s vision for philanthropy.

The Clear Mountain Cares program grants bank employees one paid day off from work to volunteer serving a community organization of his/her choosing. This day off is in addition to any regular paid time off already provided by the bank. Employees are free to select any volunteer opportunity they would like, as long as the organization serves a need within our community. We established a goal of completing 500 hours of service during the first year, and we have exceeded both our goal and our expectations.

Additionally, we also created the “Brian F. Thomas Community Service Award.” This award will be given annually to the bank employee who best exemplifies Brian’s vision for community service and philanthropy. The award will include a monetary gift for the winner as well as the ability to direct a monetary gift to a charity of the winner’s choice.
