Cashmere Valley Bank, Cashmere, WA

Entry Year: 2017
Entry Category: Financial Education
Asset Size: Small
Program Name: Financial Literacy Program

Program Summary:

Cashmere Valley Bank recognizes that in order for us to continuously assist our community, we need to go beyond the financial services that any one bank can offer. We are not content with exceptional customer service, preferable rates and exceptional employees although we are proud of that. We strive to have an impact outside of our branches within our local communities.

On average CVB offers 6 financial literacy classes. These literacy classes stretch from young children learning how to save money, to kids in high school preparing for the financial responsibilities they will encounter during their next phase in life. Our presentations at local colleges like Central Washington University discuss various financial aspects including debt as well as opening your own business account. We educate our adults on different investment opportunities so they can properly plan for retirement, education etc. which is done through our Wealth Management Division. You can also catch our insurance team Mitchell Reed and Schmitten at various senior centers and business’s, educating people on all insurance based matters.

The education doesn’t stop there. We at Cashmere Valley Bank use all of our resources to better our local communities. That’s why we work with the local schools to promote other skills like how a student can present a powerful interview, or how someone can better understand financial marketing. On average the bank enhances the financial literacy of anywhere between 400-500 people each year.
