On the third Saturday of each month, March through October, Citizens Bank of Edmond shuts down a three-block radius of the streets of downtown Edmond in order to host a local street festival called Heard on Hurd. Heard on Hurd is a family-friendly event held with the purpose of supporting the growth and prosperity of our city, our state, our bank, and most importantly our community. Since its small and humble beginnings in 2014, Heard on Hurd has since grown to an attendance of over 20,000 people each month to experience live-music, engage with their community, sample a variety of foods, and shop for unique local goods provided by over 60 food trucks and pop up shops.
The true beauty of Heard on Hurd does not lie within the statistics, but instead within its ability to bring Edmond’s citizens together to enjoy the local vendors that help this town thrive economically. Since day one the festival has run entirely off of volunteer-based efforts from the employees of Citizens Bank of Edmond. This event truly allows the members of Edmond’s community to shine, which has been and always will be the sole purpose of Citizens Bank’s role in the community. Citizens Bank of Edmond works diligently to highlight the importance of shopping, eating, and banking local while also raising funds from a percentage of all alcohol and t-shirt sales to benefit Edmond Public Schools.
