Program Summary:

Central Bank & Trust Co. initiated two programs in 2017 to address criminal problems and quality of life issues impacting the inner city and unbanked population of our community. These programs also addressed fraud problems causing large financial losses for banks and bank customers.

The Operation Homeless Financial Fraud Prevention Program and the Risky Business Program were implemented in January 2017. Central Bank & Trust Co. immediately found success and the programs were accepted by other banks within our community. Banks and law enforcement have reported significant decreases in counterfeit check fraud cases as a result of the Operation Homeless Fraud Prevention Program. Public Safety officials and community members have provided positive feedback on the Risky Business Program's impact on inner-city stores.
