ABA: The American Bankers Association
Banking Topic

Financial institutions should have programs to manage the market, credit, liquidity, legal, operational and other risks of investment securities and end-user derivatives activities.

Related Topics

There are a number of new and existing derivatives regulations, and ABA is working to ensure policies permit banks to serve their customers and manage risk through their involvement in the derivatives markets.

ABA has a Swaps Working Group for members who actively use or are considering using derivatives instruments to manage risk to meet their business needs. Working group members include both dealer and end-user banks. The group provides updates on federal legislation, regulatory agency actions and judicial decisions related to derivatives and facilitates the exchange of ideas on issues, problems and solutions for meeting the regulatory expectations.
