American Bankers Association Earns 2024 Great Place to Work® Certification™

WASHINGTON —

The American Bankers Association has once again been Certified™ by Great Place to Work®, the association announced today. ABA first earned the distinction in 2017. The national recognition is based entirely on what current employees said about their experience working at ABA in an independent anonymous survey. This year, 89% of ABA employees said it is a great place to work – 32 points higher than the typical U.S. company and higher than ABA's previous year's survey. A summary of ABA’s ratings can be found here.

“We are incredibly proud and honored to earn the prestigious Great Place to Work® Certification™ once again,” said Rob Nichols, ABA president and CEO. “We have worked hard to create a supportive, caring and inclusive culture that our employees value, and this designation will help ABA continue to attract and retain top talent that provides exceptional service and advocacy for banks of all sizes across the country.”

Overall, ABA employees overwhelmingly responded that new team members are made to feel welcome when they join the organization, and that employees are able to take time off from work when they feel it is necessary. They take pride in their work, with 94% citing the service they deliver to members as “excellent.” The core competencies on which ABA employees are evaluated emphasize collaboration and teamwork, innovation, accountability and integration. The association continues to introduce policies and programs to help balance the needs of its diverse workforce, including flexible work arrangements, professional development opportunities for all staff, and benefits to reduce financial burden on commuters, new parents and those managing student loans.

"Great Place To Work Certification is a highly coveted achievement that requires consistent and intentional dedication to the overall employee experience," says Sarah Lewis-Kulin, vice president of global recognition at Great Place To Work. “It is the sole official recognition earned by the real-time feedback of employees regarding their company culture. By successfully earning this recognition, it is evident that the American Bankers Association stands out as one of the top companies to work for, providing a great workplace environment for its employees."

Great Place to Work® is the global authority on workplace culture, employee experience, and the leadership behaviors proven to deliver market-leading revenue, employee retention and increased innovation. According to Great Place to Work research, job seekers are 4.5 times more likely to find a great boss at a Certified great workplace. Additionally, employees at Certified workplaces are 93% more likely to look forward to coming to work, and are twice as likely to be paid fairly, earn a fair share of the company’s profits and have a fair chance at promotion.
