My name's Russell Davis.
I'm Executive Vice President of Member Experience
at the American Bankers Association,
and I'm delighted today to be joined by two leaders
of Lenders Cooperative,
and we're here to talk about some innovations
and new developments
in small business and commercial lending.
The challenge really from where you guys sit,
the opportunity and the exciting bit is
how do you arm a smaller institution
with the technology and the capabilities?
(-)It's really having one single platform
to address smaller loans, larger loans,
different ways of underwriting,
but then for the bank to be able to consume that
on a per-unit basis.
It is having a borrower-facing portal
where they can access 24 by seven, a dynamic portal,
and then really for that to be effective,
you've gotta be able to have an intake of that information
from the borrower,
the ability to communicate, upload documents,
and then you really need a system
that's sort of product-agnostic,
meaning we're not charging
by the number of users that access it,
we just charge per loan.
And that's been well received,
'cause really what that means at the end of the day
is the bank can get a return on the very first loan,
'cause it's a per loan cost,
and that's unique in the industry.
